There were no scientists coming up with a new antibiotic every time you turn around. For centuries herbs have been the focal point of all natural healers and it has recently been rediscovered by scientists that there truly are herbs that have healing properties.

It has been rediscovered that using these herbs have a a lot of advantages for a lot of different people. Pharmaceutical companies in particular. However, what they have discovered is how to remove the active ingredients found in herbs and they leave the rest of the herb behind. What they don't understand is that these active ingredients work better in harmony with the entire herb and not isolated. Being isolated is what causes all the different side effects that some drugs have on people. There are far less of these side effects if the herb is left untouched and taken in it's pure state.

If you want to be able to maintain a healthy life by using natural remedies it it's important that you learn how to identify the different plants and herbs that can be beneficial for good health. Once you learn about them you can begin to harvest them on your own and start taking advantage of their healing properties.

There are few doctors that will be against the herbal medicines but they will more than likely still want you to take some of the medications that you are on, especially if it has anything to do with keeping you alive.

Not only are natural herbs good for a variety of different health issues, the importance of eating good foods or super foods should be paid attention to as well. Foods such as whole grains, fresh fruits and veggies all should be included in your diet. You should also make sure that you have plenty of dried beans, nuts, seeds and legumes in your diet. You need to do your best to stay clear of processed foods, they only serve to get in the way of the natural healing properties of everything else you are trying to include in your naturally healthy diet.

Make sure that your diet is more alkaline than acidic. It is the kind of diet that will help prevent you from getting sick as often since viruses and bad bacteria don't survive in an alkaline atmosphere. A lot of nutritionists believe that your diet should be 80% alkaline and the rest acidic. Acidic foods will be your meats, poultry, fish, grains and breads and the alkaline are your fresh foods like fruits and vegetables.

You can also try to prevent getting the flu by eating a lot of garlic, garlic is natures antibiotic. You should also make sure that you eat the kinds of foods that will make your immune system stronger and that's things like a chicken broth or a vegetable soup made with a lot of different herbs and spices. Don't forget ginger root, adding some of this herb grated into boiling water and you have a healing tea for both the cold and flu.
